Jasmine, your slide show gives us a window into the difference it makes to celebrate and invest in women. My Mother was a very self-sacrificing person who gave oodles of love and encouragement. What you are doing is another display of that kind of care. Thanks. I’m honored that you included my quote in your slide show. To share with more readers, I’ll write a blog on this, too. Thanks so much for your initiative for women entrepreneurs in the Philippines.

Oh, Jasmine, I am so honoured to be involved in this project, and that you found my photos worthy of gracing these incredibly moving contributions. I will also be blogging about this later on in the week (& tweeting too!).
Congratulations on putting together such an inspirational slideshow!

Robyn, Amy and Nina – thank YOU for your very special contributions. Each one of you took a moment to reflect on opportunities for women to invest and wrote something inspiring. Together, you created something extraordinary.

These women in the Philippines, and others around the world who live in poverty, will benefit from the contributions of people who donate to programs like Opportunity International.

The group of women who benefit from the funds raised by this project will embark on a two year program where they support one another, invest their talents in building their small businesses (funded by the project) and change the quality of their lives dramatically. Thank you.

I just want to say that this has been a wonderful idea, and it has been interesting to take a look through all of the contributions. What a fantastic community you’ve been building up! Inspiring.

    thanks Andy :)
Of course, I look back now and think I could have done it better. But I’m really pleased the 25 other women took part and that Amy contributed her photos. All I did was ask for participation and stitch it together! Now to raise some funds!

Nice work Jasmin … how are the donations going?

  8. 8 wonderwebby November 14, 2008 at 1:25 pm

Hi Gavin, thanks! It was such a privilege to coordinate this slideshare project. So far I have raised AU$380 out of my $10,000 – all online donation. All I need is around 600 more people around the world to donate US$10 each by the end of June!

More about my Women’s Opportunity project and fundraising update over here…

Congratulations Jasmin! Please advise if you have a like a project document that states how the US$10k will be handled. Perhaps this will help spark more contributions.

Thanks Janette. There is more information on Opportunity International’s website about this project http://www.opportunity.org.au/home.asp?pageid=B9393EBC444FCC91 and about Trust Banks (PDF)

I plan to launch a new creative challenge this week :) so yes, it will be a good idea to also create a post/page specifically about the $10k Trust bank on the Women’s Investment blog, thanks Janette.
